Visitor Experience Planning

Kiewit Luminarium: Conceptual Plan and Project Development

For Exploratorium’s Global Collaboration division, I project managed, conceived, and co-developed the institutional concept for Kiewit Luminarium, a new discovery center in Omaha. During development and design phases, my role included contributions to curatorial strategy, research, zone development, content creation, and writing, along with developing, revising, and testing of interactive exhibits. I proposed the centrally located exhibition experience concept. This work blended engineering, science, arts, and the humanities with inclusive strategies and a place-based perspective.

Developed with Exploratorium designers and exhibit developers.

Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum: Visitor Experience Plan

Where do I belong? How can I make a difference? Questions that touch our sense of self shape the visitor experience of the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum, a multidisciplinary community gathering space dedicated to the challenges and joys of connecting with others and learning together. Working closely with the client team, I led the conception and development of the visitor experience plan. It features inclusion, engagement, and learning strategies, along with a conceptual framework that includes exhibition zones and experiences described in detail. Based on the plan, FMSM is about to begin a capital campaign intended to raise $70 million for a 63,500-square-foot facility. (The plan has not yet been released to the public.)

Developed at Gyroscope.
